Job Purpose

To independently manage a portfolio of credit relationships with specific risk and revenue objectives and to lead a team of Senior Relationship Managers / Relationship Manager / Assistant Relationship Managers / Senior Relationship Officers along with their respective back-ups (if any) and take overall responsibility for identifying, recruiting and retaining quality resources to achieve and exceed target goals. Key Accountabilities Ensures housekeeping for the team and ensures compliance with: Documentation requirements, Credit Management Process, Audit, Anti-Money Laundering guidelines and Central Bank regulations as amended from time to time. On the line evaluation by line manager and other internal periodic reports circulated such as pending activation Contributes as a member of the departments senior management team to the development and refining of the vision and strategy for the Bank, and contributes to the overall process of management and corporate decision making to ensure the Bank maximises its short, medium and log term profitability returns to its shareholders. On the line evaluation by line manager Directs, plans and manages the activities of staff assigned to the department to ensure business objectives are met. Exercises financial authority to the level agreed as per delegated lending authorities. On the line evaluation by line manager Prepares the operating budget for the Unit. Monitors budget performance against approved levels and investigates and reconciles any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control. Agreed Net Operating Income Loans/Deposits portfolio Devises, recommends and gains approval to facilitate Corporate activities ensuring their consistency with the Bank’s business objectives and co-ordination with the aims of the operational departments. On the line evaluation by line manager Establishes standards and processes for the development and maintenance of “Credit Quality of the Bank’s Corporate banking portfolio”. Portfolio quality as set out in the Objective setting annually Represents the team with all internal constituents so as to: • Close potential business opportunities • Address audit / credit concerns • Ensure the highest quality standards Feedback/rating in Audit reports, where applicable Represents the Bank in a professional manner with all external constituents with the highest degree of integrity & Quality. On the line evaluation by line manager Acts as Back-up for other Unit Heads or Segment Head during absence. On the line evaluation by line manager Coordinates the preparation of responses to reports / queries raised by Internal / External Audit and ensures that the comments provided by the team are accurate and reflects the correct position On the line evaluation by line manager Motivates and develops personnel to ensure the function is staffed with individuals of the required calibre and that there is adequate succession planning and provision for future demands. Undertakes staff appraisals in line with approved Bank Procedures. As per bank’s standard policies Other Accountabilities Job Context The Bank is seeking to enhance its competitive position. Frameworks, Boundaries & Decision Making Authorit A Unit Head will be guided by all of the Banks standard policies and delegated lending authorities. Education MBA with specialization in Accounting, Commerce and/or Economics Experience and Skills Professional Qualifications –CA | ACCA | CFA | CAIIB preferred Work Experience Minimum 10 years experience of which 8 years in Relationship Management in Corporate Banking with a reputable Bank. UAE experience is preferred
